How to Get Rid of Dark Elbows and Knees

Dark elbows and knees – this is the effect of a massive accumulation of dead cells which, by not being removed, made the skin from this area look dull and dry. This is also caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight, friction or pressure that confronts the skin.

Here is how to get rid of this problem by using natural products!
Summer is the season when the skin is strong pigmenting. You have not figured it out by now, but we tend, often, to support our elbows when we sit at the table or in the office, at work. Rubbing the skin with rough surfaces lead to its thickening – from where the dark color and dry appearance. Often, we sit on our knees on the carpet to clean it or when we play with children, etc. The pressure and friction action affect our skin. And thus we find ourselves with black hands and knees!

Use sunscreen lotion during summer

To remove this unpleasant appearance of the skin, we must follow some simple but very effective natural treatments. First, in summer, it is mandatory to use a cream or lotion with high sunscreen protection factor. Even if you do not stay at the beach and don’t expose yourself to sunlight for a long time, your cream should not miss! It will protect against UV rays that otherwise you will damage your skin and will give it a dark color.

Use a mask with sugar and olive oil

Mix an equal amount of sugar and olive oil until you get a smooth paste. Exfoliate your knees and elbows for a few minutes, using this paste, and then rinse with water. You can use a neutral pH soap to remove entirely the product from your skin. This way you’ll get rid of dark elbows and knees.

Gel or juice from the leaves of aloe vera

The gel or juice from fresh leaves of aloe vera will help you get rid of the dark color of the skin of the elbows and knees, especially if you’re exposed to too much sun, for a long time. Simply apply one of the two products to the affected areas and wait 30 minutes to take effect. Then rinse with warm water. Careful! Do not use hot water because high temperatures dehydrate your skin.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide will diminish dark color. Just dab the affected areas with this solution using a cotton pad. Rub gently for 10-15 minutes, and the dead cells will be removed, leaving the skin soft and supple.

Lemon

It is known that lemon juice has bleaching properties, therefore, should have a try if you want to get rid of this problem. Rub dark areas with half a lemon, for 5 minutes, and then allow the juice to penetrate and to take effect for 40-50 minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat this treatment every day until you see results.

Mask of turmeric, milk and honey

Turmeric has antiseptic properties, honey deeply moisturizes and milk has whitening properties. Mix the three ingredients until you reach the consistency of a fine paste. Apply the mask and wait for 25 minutes to take effect. Then, rinse with water. This treatment will help you get rid of dark elbows and knees.

Almonds help if you have dark elbows and knees

Almonds are rich in vitamin E and eliminate unsightly blemishes on the skin. Break a few almonds and blend the seeds until they turn into paste. Apply gentle with circular motions and massage for 5 minutes. This paste will remove dead cells and your skin will regain a healthy appearance.
